The tanksuit made its first appearance in July 1943 as replacement of the previously used assortment of uniforms and oilskin clothing worn by tank crew. They are known as Tank Suits or Pixie Suits and had a detachable hood. The suits were made to fit loosely for comfort in the confines of a tank. Battledress was worn underneath when it was cold or just a shirt with shorts could be worn underneath when it was warm.
The Camouflaged pattern was produced for wear in heavily wooded regions.
This is a hard to find camouflaged pattern tank suit in used condition, shows wear and some repairs. One long zippers is functional and the other zipper has been replaced periodically and is not functional. The snap studs are marked Newey. The integral braces are present and complete.
The label is present and maker marked by Charles Markson Ltd. and dated 1945. The tank suit is having a very good big size 5!
Nice used camouflage tank suit, hard to find example.
